MarketGauge Publishing provides educational and informational content, software, research and model alerts. It does not provide personalized investment advice, determine suitability, manage subscriber accounts or execute trades.
Model results
Published MarketGauge.com model records may include two different forms of hypothetical performance: backtested research and results calculated from buy, sell, stop, target and rebalance alerts issued to members in real time. During a real-time alert period, the decisions were communicated when they occurred—not selected or reconstructed after the market outcome was known.
MarketGauge.com does not execute trades or control subscriber accounts. It therefore cannot verify whether every signal was followed, when an order was entered or the exact price obtained. Results calculated from the real-time alert record are presented as hypothetical model performance, not the actual return of any subscriber account. Subscriber outcomes can differ materially because of execution timing, prices, position size, adherence, slippage, commissions, taxes, account restrictions and other implementation factors.
Risk and limitations
Each presentation identifies the model version, backtested period, real-time alert period, benchmark, pricing methodology, costs, assumptions and material limitations. Backtested research and real-time-alert hypothetical model performance are visually and textually separated; a transition year is identified as mixed. Past model results do not guarantee future results.
Historical signal validation and execution.
In 2023, Absolute Performance Verification independently validated the historical MarketGauge.com signal records covered by its report. MarketGauge continues to use the same signal-distribution process while refining its investment models. The report defines the models, periods and procedures reviewed. That historical validation does not automatically extend to later periods or model upgrades.
MarketGauge.com subscribers and MarketGauge Pro clients receive the same model signals. MGAM executes the applicable signals in managed accounts using the models and allocations selected for each portfolio.
Execution prices can be more or less favorable than the model’s reference prices on any individual trade. Account returns also reflect fees, timing, allocations and cash flows. MarketGauge cannot verify subscriber or Pro client fill prices.
